STILL’S DISEASE IN ADULTS, UNDETERMINED FEBRILE SYNDROME, HYPERFERRITINEMIAAbstract
Adult Still disease is a systemic disease of unknown cause. It is clinically characterized by prolonged febrile state, joint involvement and evanescent rash. There are no laboratory or histological parameters so its diagnosis requires the exclusion of infectious, autoimmune, neoplastic and granulomatous diseases. We discuss the clinical case of a patient with complaints of fever, odynophagia, arthralgia, erythema, hepatomegaly, elevation of aminotrasnferases and hyperferritinemia. Glycosylated ferritin may aid in the diagnosis when less than 20% and associated with a total ferritin above five times the maximum value of normality. After starting corticotherapy, there was an improvement in the clinical and laboratory.
